Are You Cynical?
Of course, you are. Everyone is cynical!
If that statement offends you, you don't understand the meaning of the word "cynical" (see definition here).
When I use the word "cynical", I associate the definition “based on or reflecting a belief that human conduct is motivated primarily by self-interest”. In simple terms, my use of the word "cynical" is synonymous with the word "selfish".
I suggest that "selfishness" is the foundation of human motivation and behavior. It helps you understand why people do what they do. It also helps YOU understand why YOU do the things you do.
Understanding this fundamental concept is the first step to conquering the Cynical World.
The Cynical World
Society has become SELFISH! It is the underlying motivator driving behavior in the world today.
Selfishness, as a concept, is not inherently bad. But when taken to extremes, it has negative ramifications on YOU. When people, businesses, and/or governments become too cynical (selfish), they care more about themselves than they do about you.
Have you felt like you were important to them ONLY UNTIL they got what they wanted?
Do they ignore you until THEY WANT something from you?
They use your selfishness against you. They know how to manipulate your selfishness to get what THEY WANT -- which might not be what is best for YOU!

The Cynical Guru has decades of experience in the Information Technology (IT) industry developing, designing, and delivering business software, systems, and processes. The Cynical Guru's IT career success wasn't due to being a geek/nerd (it didn't hurt), but because The Cynical Guru understood that PEOPLE are the secret.
People either contribute to or sabotage a goal based on what THEY WANT. For you to accomplish anything significant, you must marshall the effort of others. If you want others to help you accomplish your goals, you must understand WHAT people do and WHY.
